In general, deployment of DFA-Plus technology can be accomplished using the infrastructure already available in many distribution substations. DFA-Plus devices are a standard, 19-inch rack mount device (1.5U) which connects to standard CT/PT circuits used by relays and other substation devices.
DFA-Plus devices require a 12-60V DC power input, backed by substation batteries. Additionally, DFA-Plus devices require internet connectivity. Because DFA-Plus devices generate significantly more data than traditional monitoring devices (PQ/DFR/SCADA), it is not generally recommended to place multiple devices behind a metered connection.
